1 - One thing I always do is keep Bella's leash, poop bag dispenser and poop bag holder in the same place. I keep hers on a cute hanger by the front door. I made this one year when we went to dog camp. When I keep everything in the same place I don't waste time and energy getting everything together every time we walk. In the leash bag I keep 2 rolls of poop bags and sometimes a few bucks or other little things I might need on a walk.
2 - I shop online at my favorite local pet shop and pick up curbside. My local store always has great online sales so I always save money doing it this way! Plus when I order online the shopping is done and I don't need to buy anything I don't need on an impulse like when I am roaming the store aimlessly trying to remember what was on my list. Plus I am also supporting a local small business which I love! If you are local to Los Angeles my favorite pet stores are Centinela Feed they have locations all over SoCal, Andersen's Pet Shop in Montrose, and Village Pet Supply in Valley Village.
3 - I am always ready for messes with the proper cleaning supplies. 2 of my favorite products for pup clean ups are from Sprinkle and Sweep! I have been using these for at least a year now and love it. When your pup has an accident (think pee, liquid poo and vomit) all you have to do is sprinkle the granules over the mess wait a few seconds, sweep it into the dustpan and put it in the trash. It is that easy! Thankfully Bella, even at 15.5, doesn't have many accidents but when she does this works great. I would have LOVED this when I had Dorothy, she wasn't potty trained when I got her (she was 15 and an outside dog before I got her) and she potted in the house frequently. This would have really helped my sanity. The stain and odor spray is also amazing for carpet clean ups! I have had it work on a couple old stains on my carpet too.
4 - I prioritize health and wellness for Bella with a balanced diet and regular mental and physical exercise. Having healthy habits like nutritious food, physical exercise and mental stimulation along with regular vet visits can help your dog stay healthy and happy for as long as possible and that definitely makes life for you and your dog easier!
